Challenges - Athletics

In this piece of writing, we had to write about something that was challenging for us  I used athletics because some sport is hard and some easy.

My DLO that I used was google documents.

It was hard to structure my ideas
It was easy to write the paragraphs

First I planned then I  moved my name across the board and I finished

I used 2 different books and Sally to help me finish this poster we had to explain different feelings in a Venn diagram it was hard and boring but I finished.

I used different stories to help me find different types of hooks.

First, we looked at different stories from different journals then we wrote the first sentence down from each story then found out what hook it was by looking at Sally's example.

I used a topic sentence for each paragraph and used the 3 e's per paragraph also which stands for explain example and elaborate it took us a while to figure out the 3 e's and where they go.

Last weeks Rangtahi Festival!

Last Thursday was Rangatahi Festival, 17 schools came to our school Park Estate to perform there was Pasifika groups Kapa Haka groups Indian groups and more it was very entertaining, We had to do no school work because we all had separate jobs I was an ambassador we had to go around and ask people for help, but we was mostly just watching all the performances because no one needed help

Dystopian Future Writing ( Dystopian = Future )

We have been working on this for a couple of weeks now and I have finished writing finally!

I used a lot of plans from whole class lessons and group lessons to finish my writing and I think I have done quite well!


First, I wrote my plan about my future then wrote my first paragraph
Next, We went to groups and finished our body and conclusion
Last, We finished editing and revising

It was easy to figure out technical vocab to fit into words but hard to figure out where to put the sentences

Class Expectations Poster

I used our class expectations to make a poster of what we had to do it took us 3 days to finish this because we only had a little bit of time since we had more work to finish I hope it looks cool.`


First, we took pictures of our examples
And then added our sentences
Second, we added arrows
and then we were finished!







I learned to use real life examples instead of online example to make it easier

1st I researched on google some facts to help the world

I learned how to use facts to support my writing

The easy part was writing the facts into my story but it was hard to group in my ideas.

We only had 1 slideshow so I worked out the first question using the math learning centre I went to the fractions site to figure out my answer but for the second question I figured it out in my head
It was hard to get the answer correct but I think I have done well.

I used my writing plan to figure out what I was going to write about. After that I started to write my story on google docs



I learned that it's easier to plan using key words before writing.
It was hard to figure out key words that would fit into my story
It was easy to come up with the characters and storyline.

First, we read the book Das Piano after that we started to do a cloze activity then we had to start on our slides.

First, I read the questions to understand what the answer will be, next I re-read the question then answered the questions.

The hardest part was when I had to figure out the answers for the questions.

I used Google Slides for my slideshow. Because it is easy to switch from slide to slide.

I learned that if I use my time's table to get the answers it is way easier.

We were learning about the Water Cycle we had to make a poster about it there was 4 parts to our writing they were Condensation, Precipitation, Collection, and Evaporation.

I learned that we had to add technical vocab use details such as examples definitions and facts. The next time we write a story I am going to use the Succes Criteria and add as much detail as I can.

WALT: We were learning to ask questions to help us understand our reading!

We read a book then once we read the whole story we had to write 10 questions and 10 answers. The questions had to be made with the 5'Ws.

I learned that if I ask more questions then my work will be easier to do. The questions were hard because I really did not know what questions to write. Answering the questions was the easiest part. I started off by reading the book then I wrote the questions after I read the book then I was done. Next time I will add even more questions to my questions in my book.

WALT: We are learning about forces.
We watched videos and also made Paper Airplanes we also wrote about Forces!

The writing was pretty hard for me it took me almost a week to finish but I ended up finishing it and the easiest part for me was to make and fly paper airplanes it was pretty fun. Next time I am going to add more sentences and examples in my work!
